Samuel C. Spitale

Samuel C. Spitale grew up gay in a conservative Louisiana town where his only creative outlet was writing and performing puppet shows at the local library. After college, he escaped to the Bay Area to fulfill a childhood dream of making Star Wars toys for Lucasfilm, after which he moved to Los Angeles to fulfill his adult dream (no, not that kind) of becoming a writer and storyteller. Taking inspiration from his fish-out-of-water experience growing up, Chris enjoys writing comedies that critique society, often through a lone voice of sanity in an insane world.

He’s the author of the graphic novel How to Win the War on Truth and has written for Huffington Post, Geek magazine, and Advocate.com. When he’s not animating humorous educational videos for his YouTube channel, he can be found failing at same-sex dating or hosting panels on media literacy at Comic-Con.
