Shanice Williamson

After 15 years, I escaped the law (office) and leaped into the film and tv industry. I wrote and directed a narrative drama short, Waiting Room (currently streaming on Amazon). I also wrote, directed, and produced a comedy web series, All That Shabaz (currently streaming on SparkkTV). My pilots have placed in several competitions, including Austin Film Festival and earned me a fellowship with Circle of Confusion's Writers Discovery Program. Since graduating from WASSTP, I’ve worked as a Writers Assistant and Script Coordinator. I’ve also worked as a Director’s Assistant and a Producer’s Assistant. I write character-driven stories from the perspective of a Black woman chasing her purpose. Having moved cross-country from Atlanta in 2020, I now live in Burbank with my husband, currently (and sadly) pet-less. When I’m not writing, I’m battling 10-year-olds in Tap classes.
