Reed Tsuda

 
 

Reed Tsuda is a writer who grew up in Hawaii, Japan, and Guam and studied in Italy prior to his career. He leans into his in-depth knowledge of casting and his multicultural perspective to create enthralling, character-driven dramas that examine the intersections between Pacific Islands, Japan, and the West. He speaks Japanese, Hawaiian Pidgin, and has an intermediate knowledge of Italian. His drama pilot, Oceanfront, and his fantasy pilot, The Dirge’s Legacy, both placed in the top 10% on Coverfly’s Red List in 2022. In his spare time, he likes to get muddy in rainforests, explore the history of ancient civilizations, delve into horticulture and landscaping, and play the cello. In casting, he has worked on the series Westworld, The Act, The Umbrella Academy, Suits, Mr. Robot, Homecoming, The Sinner, and Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.
