Acclaimed for The Passage of Sun and To Lie Beneath, my work spans historical epics to horror. Faith-based dramas A Long Way From Sunday and The Way Home showcase a spiritual dimension, while The Longest Goodbye stirs deep emotions. Beyond film, I've created award-winning pilots like The Sub and comedies Gentrified and Besties. Recent projects include D-Jam limited series Press Play and Seed Money. As a playwright, my solo play Did You Do Your Homework? had a record-breaking run, earning a NAACP Image Award. Other notable works include BROKEN and Belafonte Unauthorized. My writing extends to books, with Jesse and the Caterpillar Who Got Its Wings nominated for the Emma Book Award. With a sharp cynicism, I craft narratives that challenge conventions. My journey—from the streets of Roxbury to the red carpets of Hollywood—embodies the spirit of a modern day Renaissance artist.
