This is a great scene to study if trying to learn to write better subtext. In this scene, Will openly admits to Agnes that conversing with people is sometimes difficult for him. “Tell me a story,” says Agnes. Will is MUCH better able to express himself and get his emotions out in relaying the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. You might call this storytelling subtext.
