 FAQs

  • What information is available in the Talent Portal and program lookbooks? The Talent Portal and lookbooks feature each graduate’s bio, along with links to download their resume and writing samples.

Each resource differs slightly in structure and purpose:

    • The Talent Portal includes all hireable alumni across cohorts, allowing for broader search and filtering options.

    • The lookbooks are organized by individual program cohorts, offering a more focused view of each graduating class.

  • Graduates of the Writers’ Access Support Staff Training Program emerge with hands-on experience equivalent to a full season in a professional writers' room.

Throughout the 12-week course, students are put through their paces taking notes and sharing their screen in multiple simulated writers’ rooms, proofreading and publishing story areas and scripts, learning the intricacies of the functioning of a writers’ room and the production process, and much more.

Ultimately, they leave with the skills — and the mindset — of working support staff.

The Veterans Fellowship prioritizes four key components to prepare graduates for a successful career in television:

    • Knowledge: Each Fellow has been paired with a working showrunner who has given them in-depth instruction in both the craft and the industry.

    • Professionalism: With 8 weeks of mock writers’ rooms, practice interviews, and workshops, our alumni have honed their professional etiquette and are ready for the writers’ room.

    • Experience: As military veterans with diverse backgrounds, these writers have incredible stories from a lifetime of service.

    • Craft: The core requirement of the program, these writers were selected for their talent and their unique voice which we believe shines through in their work.
