Tracy Thompson

Writer/Producer Tracy Thompson joined the Army at 17, graduated college with a degree in Computer Science, then began work as an engineer in a secret lab for Missile Defense. Bored with steady income, she decided to pursue a career in entertainment. First in front of, then behind, ultimately finding her love for screenwriting, far far away, from the camera. In 2024 she was selected as a Writers Guild Foundation Veterans' Fellow, though she identifies as a Lady. This North Carolina native is currently writing and producing for TV One’s next flagship reality music show COLLAB, set to air later this year.

Additionally, Tracy conceived and co-produced the making of both an eleven and thirteen year old, for which she surprisingly won no awards. She enjoys writing flawed characters with children, and putting them into unfamiliar (and often hilarious) predicaments.

Her writing samples include PRUDENCE, a half-hour dramedy about a conservative single mom who finds work behind the camera, inside the adult film industry; KILLER KEISHA, a genre half-hour about a college student who looks to the strip club for extra cash, but instead finds herself fighting zombies in the hood. Her most recent script, 80’s BABIES, is an hour-long drama about kids growing up in the projects in the late 80s and the murder mysteries they strive to solve.
