  • In a previous scene, Smoke watched his twin brother, Stack, get killed/drained of his life… Now, Stack is seemingly alive again, behind a door — up and talking, demanding to be let out.

  • There’s real, emotional motivation for Smoke to let his newly alive brother out, but something’s not quite right with him. Annie even says, “That ain’t your brother.”

  • We don’t know what will happen if Smoke opens the door. We imagine it could be something horrible — and that’s what creates the suspense.
