Upcoming Events
The WGF Shavelson-Webb Library is holding a two-hour virtual coworking session on Tuesday, March 31 at 11am PT. Write quietly, chat with fellow patrons, or ask our Library team any script/craft/archival-related questions. Whether you’re looking for focused, productive time to get words on the page or to connect with a supportive community of writers, WGF Office Hours are here to help!
On April 8, get an exclusive look Inside the Writers Room with the 98th Academy Awards, a special iteration of our ongoing event series where we gather the writers room to learn how their room runs. Learn what goes into writing an awards show, from how the team collaborates with the host, the preparations involved in writing for a live show, and how the team crafts the jokes, sketches, and monologue for Hollywood’s biggest night for film.
Join us on Saturday, April 11 at Lawless Brewing in North Hollywood for our WGF Writers Hangout!
Mingle with fellow writers and WGF staff members over drinks. Library iPads will be available on-site to read digital scripts from our collection. We’ll also have fun activities planned, including mini trivia, a bar napkin scene writing challenge, and a speed pitching session to match you with other writers looking for feedback on their scripts.
We’re taking the Writers Guild Foundation Library on the road! Join us on Thursday, April 16 at Revenge Of in Glassell Park as we transform the space into a pop-up Library. Read or write quietly, meet other writers, and chat with WGF Librarians about all things screenwriting. We'll also have iPads available on-site to read digital scripts as well as notable materials from our collection.
Do you want to create more powerful conversations with vulnerability and courage? This immersive, interactive virtual workshop with Entertainment Career Coach/Talent Agent Consultant Jim Arnoff will give you the insider’s take on what it takes to start that conversation, maintain the courage throughout and come out with a powerful result.
