Before Kay Cannon wrote PITCH PERFECT – the crazy-awesome a capella movie named one of the top films of 2012 by NPR – she was hand-picked by Tina Fey to write for 30 ROCK. While there, she won three WGA Awards and a Peabody. Oh, and she trained at Second City and ImprovOlympic in Chicago. So, y’know, she’s a good writer.
But that’s not all she’s done! Since PITCH PERFECT, she’s written for NEW GIRL and penned PITCH PERFECT 2, which hits theaters this May.
Join her at GENRE SMASH! as she and WGF communications monkey Kevin Ott chat about what makes a good musical, what it’s like writing the kind of frenetic comedy of 30 ROCK and NEW GIRL, and what we can expect to see in PITCH PERFECT 2.
