Some of the most watchable movies and television shows in history are adaptations: To Kill A Mockingbird. Friday Night Lights. I, Claudius. Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Jaws.
And consider this: Adaptations are so popular among production companies that many writers and artists create novels, comic books and other media for the sole purpose of optioning them. Adaptations are a big deal.
So join us as we spend an evening discussing exactly what it takes to turn a book, a play, a graphic novel or a series of hilarious commercials into a cohesive script. You’ll hear from Stephen Chbosky (THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER), Robin Swicord (MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA) and Robert Nelson Jacobs (CHOCOLAT).
Dan Petrie, Jr. (BEVERLY HILLS COP) will moderate the discussion.
