National Directory
of Script Writer Collections

Can’t find it at the WGF?

Try the National Directory.

The WGF’s National Directory of Script Writer Collections (NDSWC) is an index of film, television, and radio writers and the repositories that hold their materials, which include archives, libraries, universities, and museums throughout the United States. The mission of the directory is to provide a resource for students, researchers, historians, and the public to easily locate writers’ works and materials.

The directory is still in development and updated regularly as information about new collections is discovered. Collections include scripts, personal papers, photographs, oral histories, and artifacts. Materials held in the WGF Archive are also included. While every effort is made to locate records, some writers may not have a formal collection or materials deposited at a central institution.

Is Your Collection Listed?

Institutions and writers whose materials and collections are not currently represented in the Directory are strongly encouraged to contact the archive.
