Of course, we couldn’t also help but ask some craft questions, so watch and learn helpful writing advice, from how they overcome challenging stages of the process to practical ways writers can start putting words on the page.

WGFestival 2022: An Evening with Netflix

On Day 2 of WGFestival 2022, we spent the early evening at Tudum Theater in Hollywood with Netflix Original Series creators and showrunners, including Wednesday's Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, From Scratch's Attica Locke and Tembi Locke, Grace and Frankie's Marta Kauffman, Dead to Me's Liz Feldman, and Stranger Things's The Duffer Brothers. Watch the video above to learn how they each crafted their series and their advice for tackling the challenges of writing and producing television.

WATCH: Inspired By Panel, presented by Netflix and WGF

On May 19, we teamed up with Netflix for “Inspired By…”, an evening with the best-selling authors of Bridgerton, MAID and Anatomy of a Scandal and the showrunners who have brought these entertaining and powerful stories from the page to the screen. WATCH: WGF Library Script Breakdown with CODA's Siân Heder

On March 9, WGF librarians Javier Barrios and Lauren O’Connor welcomed CODA writer/director Siân Heder for a Script Breakdown of her screenplay, which is nominated for a 2022 Writers Guild Award and Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Watch and learn how Heder approaches crafting the script, from her outlining and extensive research to how she worked with the deaf community to tell an authentic story and translate the script into American Sign Language (ASL).

We love awards season because it gives us an opportunity to gather some of the industry’s best writers to talk about their acclaimed projects. This year, we hosted Between the Lines, which highlights writers nominated for a 2022 Writers Guild Award for Episodic Drama and Episodic Comedy, and Beyond Words, which gathered nominees for the Writers Guild Awards for Adapted and Original Screenplay.
