Searching the catalog

TITLE: search for scripts, books, periodicals, and AV materials. Use complete or partial title. You may limit your search by type of material: TV-episodic, screenplay, book, AV, etc.

WRITER: search by surname only or complete name if known. Incorrect spellings will yield no results. Search will list library holdings of writer's book titles; script titles; AV recordings of panel discussions and seminars in which the writer participated; and writing category award honors. NOTE: Film and television on DVD are not searchable by writer. Use title search only to find episodic or other TV and film productions on DVD.

BROWSE: browse books by subject (including writers' names); screenplays by genre; TV scripts by basic format (episodic, pilots, animation, documentary, etc.). Scripts are not searchable by subject matter.

AWARDS: writing category industry awards - both nominations and winners - can be searched by year, organization, category, writer, or title. Emmy and CableAce writing awards data is not yet complete.


Requesting use of materials in the library

TV: if you need a particular episodic television script, please provide both the episode title and season-episode number (4-13)

Screenplays: indicate whether manuscript or published

Periodicals: your patience is appreciated when we retrieve back issues from storage

Books: catalog uses a color coded book location key
